READER X MELLO pt 4

Knowing Matt it was probably about testing out a new game or something.
After changing into some comfy lounging pants and a top, you go downstairs to prepare a hot chocolate. As you reach into the cupboard for some sprinkles, someone walks into the the kitchen. You turn around and they pull you into a tight hug. They smell strongly of chocolate. You smile gently, close your eyes and hug back.
'Sorry about yesterday' you whisper in his ear.
'I was a jerk'
His grip on you tightens to the point where you can't breathe. You hit his back and pull away, but Mello keeps ahold of your shoulders. Your face strongly resembles Ryuk's apples. This time you're determined not to chicken out.
Mello smiles, but not in the normal way, this time it's gentle. You smile back as he rests his forehead on yours. A small sigh slips through your mouth and you close your eyes again. Never in your life have you felt this way towards someone.
Suddenly, there is this crushing power on your lips and you realise it's Mello. You are startled at first, but Mello is persistant and you eventually melt into the kiss. You lean back a bit, your hands still on his lower arms.
Before long, you have your hands on Mello's neck and he is holding your face in a sweet way.

All too soon, your kiss is interrupted by none other than Matt. Both you and Mello's face are bright enough to pass as apples.
'......You two are so cute...!' Matt laughs nervously. You pull away from Mello and pretend to go back to making your chocolate drink. Mello gives Matt his famous Death Stare.
Matt leaves with a bag of potato chips and an extremely hurt expression on his face. You wonder what happened.
By now your hot chocolate is cold chocolate and although you didn't realise it at the time, you had made an extra one and Mello took it gratefully.
You sit opposite Mello in the living room, swallowed up in awkward silent-ness. Randomly, you sneeze loudly, provoking Mello to smile. You love his new smile, a smile only you ever get to see.
'Thanks' Mello says. You are pretty sure he is thanking you for more than just the hot/cold chocolate.
